Nancy Jane Trevorrow

Nancy Jane Trevorrow, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital. She was 84.
 
She was born on February 20, 1941 to Eben and Evelyn (Price) Smith at Yspilanti, Michigan. On October 17, 1959 she entered into marriage with Richard Trevorrow in Belleville, Michigan. The couple spent 41 years together, until his passing on December 28, 2000. Nancy began her professional life caring for children, earning a certificate in child daycare and starting her career working​ ​a​t Belleville Child Care Center for over 14 years. Her compassion, patience, and commitment to helping young children grow were evident from the very beginning of her working life. In November of 1992, Nancy and Dick took on a new chapter when the couple purchased and began operating the Northcrest Motel in Lake City, Michigan. Through dedication and perseverance, she ran the motel with pride, welcoming guests and becoming a familiar and trusted figure to many who passed through the area.

In younger years, she loved going line dancing. Nancy enjoyed going to play euchre and bingo with her friends. In her spare time, she could often be found reading or playing games on her iPad.  Above all else, Nancy cherished her role as a mother. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her life and her greatest joy. Her love, strength, and example will continue to live on through them.

Nancy is survived by her loving children, Michael (Sylvia) Trevorrow of Belleville and Melissa Parker of Belleville; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild with one more on the way; and many other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Trevorrow; a son, Jeffrey Trevorrow in 1996; her sister, Greta Mercer; and her parents, Eben and Evelyn Smith.
 
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at the Lake City United Methodist Church.
