Norma Jean Musselman

Norma Jean Musselman, age 83 of Lake City, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2022 at home.

Norma was born November 5, 1938 on Hookers Island to Charles and Helen (Cornwell) Hooker. 

She was united in marriage to Francis Musselman on February 24, 1959 in Grayling. Francis preceded her in death in 2009.

Norma drove over three million miles behind the wheel of a truck for Rich-Co Transportation out of Lake City.  When she wasn’t on the road, she enjoyed being with family and friends. 

Norma was a social butterfly and a road runner; always on the go. The coffee was always on, and her door was open for anyone who wanted to stop by. It was not unusual for her to make friends no matter where she traveled; even making a long distance friend at a yard sale in Kentucky.

Norma was a big supporter for the Lake City Fire Department and was a Trucker Buddy for the Lake City Schools, giving hands on experience to students about big trucks.

Norma is survived by her children: Gerald (Gail) Musselman, Frank (Julie) Musselman, Julie (Brian) Richards, Tracy Mouw and Tanya (Walt) Oram and twelve grandchildren:

Scott (Nikki) Richards, Kelly (Justin) Hein, Joe (Caelan) Kowalski, Amber Nichols, Ashley (Beth) Bouffard,Tony (Sara) Mouw, Austin Mouw, Cassandra Richards, Charles (Jessie) Richards, Spencer Musselman, Shana (Jacob) Runyon and Joshua Oram and twenty two great grandchildren. 

She is also survived by a brother, Leo (Nancy) Hooker and a sister, Phyllis (Dave) Dekema.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Wanda and brother, Joe, first husband, Gerald Musselman and son, Rodney and a granddaughter, Alyssa.

A time of visitation will be on Sunday, May 22, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City. A graveside service at the Caldwell Township Cemetery will be on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11:00 am with Walter Ross presiding.
