Oral A. Rockafellow

Marion - Oral S. Rockafellow, longtime resident of Marion, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital. She was 96.

Oral was born on January 6, 1922, in Farwell, Michigan to Guy and Inez (Rawson) Murray. She entered into marriage with Allen A. Rockafellow on March 31, 1942, in Flint. 

Oral was a hard working individual providing for her children, she spent time working at AC in Flint during WWII, and was a waitress.  From 1961 until 1977 she worked at Riverside, was a ParaPro at the High School and retired from the Commission on Aging. She spent time sewing but enjoyed most of all her opportunities spent with family.  Oral cherished her kids and grandkids and was very proud of her family.

Oral is survived by her children, Karen Lotter of Falmouth, Murray (Bonnie) Rockafellow of Marion, David (Darlene) Rockafellow of Brookville, IN, Dawn (Dale) Williams of Marion, Oleda (Dean) Raymond of Marion, Henry (Debora) Rockafellow of Manton, and Brian (Karen) Rockafellow of Charlevoix; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving family members and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen in 1980, her son, Douglas Rockafellow, her parents, and her siblings.

Visitation for friends and family will be held at the Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm.   Funeral services will follow on Friday, December 7, 2018 at 11:00 am, also at the funeral home.  Officiating will be Rev. Jim Mort. Interment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Marion in the spring. 

Memorial contributions may be made directed to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
