Ramona Maxine Paddock, lifelong resident of Manton, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was 84.
Ramona was born on November 27, 1940 to Ivan Waite and Deveda Ella (McCane) Knapp in Manton, Michigan. She was a graduate of Manton High School. Ramona proudly raised her six children alongside their dad, Paul Paddock. As the kids grew out of the home, she entered into the work force as an extremely talented baker. She owned and operated The Bakery in Manton for many years, and decorated countless cakes for the Manton and surrounding communities for decades. Ramona was actively involved in the Liberty Ladies Aide and also volunteered much of her time at the Manton Museum. Later in life, she enjoyed working at the Manton VFW Hall, especially on Bingo nights. Ramona enjoyed crocheting afghans and sewing quilts for her friends and family, and in her younger years she would also sew clothes for her children. In her spare time, she could often be found reading, playing the piano, or canning food. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ramona was a dedicated and faithful Christian, and prayed for those she loved daily.
Ramona is survived by her loving children, Scott (Trina) Paddock, Paula Paddock, and Jay Paddock; daughter-in-law, Barbara Lovell Paddock; grandchildren, Brenna Edwards, Eric (Renee) Paddock, Janelle Paddock, William (Amber) Paddock, Robert (Kaitlynn) Paddock, and Elizabeth (Randy) Kubsch; great-grandchildren, Owen, Russell, Chloe, Hazel, and Theodore; and many other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her children, Brian, Jane, and Katie; a daughter-in-law, Kathryn; a grandson-in-law, Paul Edwards; and her parents, Ivan and Deveda Knapp.
