Rebecca Lee Nevills, 68, of Houghton Lake passed away on Sunday September 19, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side.

Rebecca was born on May 20, 1953 in Lansing, Michigan to Colburn and Gloria (Reimann) Smith. On December 17, 1991 in Houghton Lake, Rebecca was married to Gary Lee Nevills. Her adventurous spirit and desire to always be around her family led her to live in many areas such as Germany, Florida, Colorado, and other states, until she finally settled in Houghton Lake Michigan. In addition to her adventurous spirit was a very big heart with a deep desire and willingness to always help those in need. Her home was always open to those who needed shelter and support. Rebecca enjoyed scrapbooking, camping, reading, volunteering, fostering animals, and more than anything else she loved being with her family all of whom she cherished. Her spirit and memory will continue in the hearts of her family and friends who love her dearly.

Surviving Mrs. Nevills are her loving husband of 29 years, Gary Lee Nevills of Houghton Lake; her cherished and loving son, Preston (Brandy) Daugherty of Prudenville; five dearly loved grandchildren, Jordan (Aundrea), Olivia, Peyton, Ciara, and Mallarie; three dearly loved great grandchildren, Aiden, Giovanni, and Julian; two beloved sisters, Pamela (Larry) Nelson of Belding, and Anna (Tom) Palarmo of FL; beloved brother, Stanley Smith of Caspin; and many loved nieces and nephews. Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family Celebration of Life Services will be held for Rebecca Lee Nevills at a later time. She will be put to rest next to her dear mother as she requested. Rebecca loved animals and has requested that any memorial contributions in her memory are to be directed to, Claws and Paws Rescue, 313 W Houghton Ave, West Branch, MI 48661.
