Richard Gross Obituary

Richard Allen Gross, of Cadillac, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. He was 82.

Richard was born on February 10, 1942 to Burt Woodrow and Arlean (Morgan) Gross in Hazel Park, Michigan. He proudly answered the call of duty, serving in the United States Navy. During his four year enlistment, he was stationed on the USS Forrestal. On September 2, 1961 he entered into marriage with the former Patricia McConnel in Cadillac. The couple spent 57 years together until her time of passing in 2018. Richard had a passion for spreading the word of the Lord and served as a minister for many years. He spent his career working for Cadillac Malleable Iron for 31 years, until his time of retirement. He loved being active in the kids activities and often coached numerous sports. In his spare time, he could often be found outside, whether it was going hunting, fishing, or golfing. He liked to go bowling with his friends and go out dancing with his wife. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

Richard is survived by his loving daughter, Kimberly D'Lane Torry of Cadillac; daughter-in-law, Julie Gross of Cadillac; granddaughters, Kourtney (Bobby Ray Jr.) Lilly, Megan (Richard) Skinner, and Wendy (Jamie) Fennema; grandson, Jason James Gross; great-grandchildren, Bobby Ray Lilly III, Emmitt Skinner, Delilah Skinner, Aubrey Fennema and Zaylyn Downey; siblings, Delores Roger, Timothy Gross, William Gross, and Dennis Gross; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Gross; son, James Wade Gross; and his parents, Burt and Arlean Gross.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
