Richard Lee Anderson, 78 of Edmonton, KY formerly of Leroy, Michigan passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Reed City, MI to the late Arthur and Jenny Mead Anderson. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Haven Anderson, and son-in-law Bill.
A dedicated veteran, Richard served in the Army and honorably represented his country as a Vietnam Veteran. His commitment to service was a testament to his character and instilled in him a profound respect for freedom and sacrifice.
Richard was a man of many interests. He found great joy in the outdoors, often spending his weekends fishing and hunting. These activities brought him peace and allowed him to connect with nature, and they became cherished moments. His hands were never idle; he was also an accomplished woodworker, creating beautiful pieces.
He is survived by his wife Charlene Anderson of Edmonton, KY, five children Amanda (Gary) Simmons of Leroy, MI, Jeremy (Trish) Anderson of Allentown, PA, Mia Fauble of Grand Rapids, MI, Sara (Eric) Anderson of Edmonton, KY and Anthony (Shawna) Anderson of Owens, MD grandchildren Nick, Tanner, Joshua, Tyler, Hunter, Brian, Dylan, Dante, Erika, Travis, Daisha, Damian, Devin, Reagan, and Corbin, five great grandchildren Memphis, Everleigh, Waylon, Tate and Emersyn. He is also survived by his brother David Anderson of Dighton, MI.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Sherman Township Cemetery.
