Richard Walter Young

Richard W. Young, age 71, of Prudenville passed away on Sunday January 5, 2020 at St. Joseph Mercy-Oakland.

Richard was born on July 25, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter K. and Elsie  (Schmidt) Young. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Richard was married on May 29, 1970 in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan to Christine Orlow. He retired from Chrysler after 35 years where he had worked as a press operator. The couple moved to Prudenville in 2002 from St. Clair Shores. He enjoyed fishing, boating and trips to the casino.  

Richard is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years; Christine Young of Prudenville, brother; Michael Young, brother-in-law; Larry Orlow, niece; Amy Kaszubski, nephew; James (Maria) Orlow and great nieces; Abbey Kaszubski and Kaylee Kaszubski. He was preceded in death by his parents.  

Per Richard's wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Richard are asked to be directed to American Cancer Society. Christler Funeral Home-Prudenville Chapel is serving the family.
