Robert Clements Obituary

Cadillac - Robert L. Clements, of Mesick and formerly of Stanton, passed away on June 14 2021,  at Pleasant Lake Lodge. He would have been 90 in July.

Bob was born Robert Lewis Clements on July 31, 1931, in Belding, Michigan to Fred and Eleanor (Griffiths) Clements. After proudly serving in the Korean War, Bob made his living for 30 yrs with Oldsmobile in Lansing MI, retiring as a Skilled Trades Supervisor in 1983.  As a young man, Bob, enjoyed playing baseball but early on found his lifelong passion for hunting from his dad and uncles; creating a fantastic hunting camp for family at his 80 acres in Stanton.  He could often be found tinkering around his property or working on an International Tractor.  But, without a doubt, his kids were everything to Bob and he gave them wonderful country childhoods and memories.  He was a longtime and supportive member of Sheridan VFW, were he was often seen surrounded by family for Sunday breakfast.

Bob is survived by his three daughters, Shelly (Scott) Randolph of Mesick, Shawna (Mike Kelly) Prater of Lansing, Shanda (Matt Stephens) Clements of Stanton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; his brother, Phil (Shirley) Clements and a sister, Sharon Tomsett; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye K. Clements, his parents, a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Yvonne Clements, a brother-in-law, Paul Tompsett and two grandchildren.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place and private interment, with military honors, will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.

The family is being served by the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home.
