Robert "Bob" Siler Obituary

Lake City - Robert “Bob” Siler passed away peacefully in the early morning on Friday, June 26 surrounded by the love of his family.  He was 68.

Bob was born on June 14, 1958 to Bob and Margie Siler in Saginaw, Michigan. When he was 6 years old, they moved from Merrill to Lake City. Bob graduated from Lake City High in 1976 and went on to receive his business degree from Northwood University.  Bob followed in his father’s footsteps and spent more than 30 years in the automobile business, where he built lasting friendships while working at dealerships in many different locations.

For more than four decades, Bob shared a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion with his wife, Kelly (Honert) Siler. They were married on June 16, 1984, and together built a beautiful family, raising their three children, Courtney, Kevin, and Jacob. Whether gathered at home, at the cabin, or celebrating life’s milestones, Bob’s greatest joy was simply being with those he loved.

He enjoyed golfing, hunting, boating, grilling, and watching NASCAR, but nothing meant more to him than spending time with his family and friends. He loved cheering on Michigan sports and the Detroit Lions, and some of his favorite moments were spent relaxing at the cabin with Kelly. Bob was also known for being the world’s greatest air guitarist whenever classic rock was playing. His sense of humor, love for life, and the memories he created with those around him will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Bob is survived by the love of his life and wife of 42 years, Kelly (Honert) Siler; his children, Courtney (Shaun) Mulder of Lake City, Kevin (Danielle) Siler of Falmouth, and Jacob (Macy) Siler of McBain; his eight beloved grandsons, Ben, Max, Joey, Bentley, Boden, Cashton, Kayson, and Tripp; his mother, Marjorie Siler of Lake City; his brothers, Fr. James Siler of Lake Leelanau and Gregory Siler of Lake City; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Siler; his sister, JoEllen Scheisswohl; his mother-in-law, Jean Honert-Decker; his father-in-law, Gordon Honert; his sister-in-law, Cheryl Henson; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Honert.
