Roger Dean Loeks, age 91 of Lake City, passed away on January 2, 2026 at the Whispering Pines Senior Living.
Roger was born August 21, 1934 in Richland Township of Missaukee County to William and Hilda (Sikkema) Loeks.
Roger was a veteran of the US Army, serving in France. He was trained at Walter Reed Military Hospital in Washington, DC as a medic. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Wyoming, Michigan. Roger enjoyed farming and raised cattle along with his aunt and uncle, John and Jen Bazuin and loved his herefords. He had worked for Harvestore and sold pole barns for Wicks and Wolohan Lumber.
Roger is survived by his children: Karla (Shane) Davison of Falmouth, Julie (Gene) VanDuinen of Lake City, Melissa (Jim) English of Jenison and Jennifer Rogers of Wyoming, his grandchildren, Thomas (Sahin) Davison, Nicholas Davison, Brooke (Jacob) Gilde, Brittney VanDuinen, Drew English, Nathan English, Amber English, Allison Young and Natalie Rogers and a great granddaughter, Addilyn Gilde.
He is also survived by his brother, Henry Loeks of Grand Rapids.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Jenema and three brothers, Harvey Loeks, Harold Loeks and Gary Loeks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with burial in the Richland Township Cemetery in Lucas.
