Rosela Anna Atherton

Rosela A. Atherton age 81, of Lake City passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home.

Rosela was born May 27, 1937 in Meridian Township of Ingham County to Daniel and Dorothy (Anderson) Burch.

She married Michael R. Atherton, February 19, 1954 in Leslie, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 2006.

Rosela had been employed at the Northcrest Motel in Lake City for fifteen years.  She enjoyed crocheting and plastic canvas crafts.  She also enjoyed Blue Grass Festivals, camping and the casino and playing Angry Birds.  She especially loved her family.

Rosela is survived by her children Kenneth Atherton of Laingsburg, Julie Anderson of Lake City, William (Rhonda) Atherton of Lansing and Leretta Wright of East Lansing.

She is also survived by six grandchildren: Sherry (Mike), Rebecca, Kimberly (Duane), Marcus, Kenneth and Michael and eight great grandchildren: Samantha, Nick, Justina, Kacy, Matthew, Ricky, Kaitlyn and Hannah , special friend Shelly Wahr, many nieces and nephews, and brothers and sisters in law.

Rosela was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, LeRoy, Raymond and Larry Burch.

Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held June 2, 2019 at 725 S. LaChance Road in Lake City with burial in the North Eagle Cemetery in Eagle, Michigan

The family is requesting memorial contributions be directed to the Hope Lodge in Grand Rapids.
