Russell Kittle Obituary

On Thursday, July 8, 2021, the Kittle family lost the life of their father, Russell Max Kittle, age 82, of Lake City to a sudden death.  He was also known by a few other names; such as Rusty Tea Kettle, Russie, Russell or Rusty.

Rusty was born March 5, 1939 in Pioneer Township of Missaukee County to Everett and Carrie (Perrigo) Kittle.

He loved fast cars, loud trucks, deer hunting and his weiner dogs.  He was a very determined worker all his life and had many occupations over the years; from road construction, logging, heavy equipment mechanic, and carpenter. He found his true passion in his later years doing small engine repair and started his own shop called Kittle’s Small Engine Repair in 1991.  He wrenched in his garage until the day of his passing.

He was also one of the founders of the Lake City Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 3884, where he served on the board for many years. The members of the club were his second family that he loved very much.

Rusty is survived by his three children: John (Jeralyn) Kittle, Lori (Boo) Larsen and Randy (Lorie) Kittle all of Lake City and four grandchildren: Brendan (Brooke Horton) Larsen, Devon (Nicole) Kittle, Mara (Alex DiCicco) Kittle and Brooke (Michael) Dziendziel. He is also survived by two brothers: Roger (Linda) Kittle and Lyle (Pat) Kittle and a sister, Brenda (Ken) Panek.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carol Belknap, two brothers, John H. Kittle and Ronald Kittle, a niece, Dawn Kittle and a longtime life partner, Lynn Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on August 7, 2021 at the Lake City Eagles Lodge 3884.   The family would like to invite anyone who knew Russie to join in his celebration.

Burial took place at the Pioneer Township Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lake City Eagles Lodge 3884 or the Missaukee Humane Society.
