Sally Lou Faye (Brown) Lutke

Sally Lou Faye Lutke, of Manton, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. She was 87.

Sally was born on January 14, 1937 in Grayling, Michigan, to James and Effie (Bennett) Brown, she was the last of thirteen children. In 1955 she entered into marriage with Joseph Lutke, and the couple began a wonderful life together. Joe and Sally proudly raised eleven children of their own. She volunteer her time to the involvement of her children and the Manton community, where she served on the PTA, volunteered in the classrooms, was involved in the athletic and band booster clubs, and was very significant in working concessions for school events alongside her husband. Sally set an example for her children and generations to come of the importance of family; she made a point to attend all sporting and school events to cheer on all of her children over the years. In her spare time, she could often be found sewing, which she was incredibly talented at. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family. 
  
Sally is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Joseph Lutke; children, Becky Lutke Vincent, Deb (Jeff) Schermerhorn, Dee Dee Lutke, Karen Lutke, Gregg (Teresa) Lutke, Sharon (Matt) Godell, Brian (Jen) Lutke, Dave Lutke, Jenny Lutke, Amy (Russell) Farrell, and Kevin Lutke; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
  
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Effie Brown; her in-laws; a great-granddaughter, Audrey; a great-great-granddaughter, Emery; and all of her siblings, Marie, Tom, Inez, Betty, Clayton, Gloria, Donna, Beatrice, Helen, Carolyn Jane, Roger, and Chuck.
  
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 2 p.m. with visitation held one hour prior at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home.
