Sandra Rae (Malcomson) Bovee

Sandra Rae Bovee, 78, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday January 13, 2025 at home with her loving children at her side.

Sandy was born on December 6, 1946 in Petoskey, Michigan. She grew up in the Houghton Lake area and attended Houghton Lake Community Schools.   Sandy was married in 1963 in Houghton Lake to Raymond Hughes.  She later married  Robert Britton in Houghton Lake on May 22, 1975, and he preceded Sandy in death in 2005.  She was then married to Larry Bovee in Paradise, Michigan and Larry  preceded her in death in 2022.   Sandra was a Hair Stylist, and owned her own shop in the Houghton Lake area for many years. She enjoyed Arts and Crafts, and was an avid painter.

Surviving Mrs. Bovee are her daughter, Brenda Uponen of Prudenville; son, Bill Britton of Houghton Lake; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Tim(Frieda) Malcomson of Florida; several nieces and nephews.  .  Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Lois(Livingston) Malcomson;  husband, Robert Lee Britton; husband Larry Bovee; son, Bobbie Hughes; brother, Billie; and sister, Glenda.. 

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date for Sandra Bovee.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sandy are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society.
