Sandra Jean Geise-Welch

Sandra Jean Geise-Welch, age 86, of Lake City passed away at her home Saturday, May 8, 2021.

She was born February 1, 1935 in Mass City, Michigan to Henry and Ina (Hendrickson) Keranen.

Jean married Donald Geise in 1955 and he preceded her in death in 1981. She married Dwight Welch in 1988.

Jean was first and foremost a very loving and compassionate mother.   She retired from Kroger in Brighton and moved to the Lake City area in 2001.

She enjoyed crocheting and watching the birds and wildlife animals in her yard.  Her constant companion was her little dog JoJo.

Jean was a member of the Lake City Evangelical Presbyterian Church.

Jean is survived by her husband,  Dwight and children: Linda (Greg) Meloche of Corunna, Karen (Mike) Geise of South Lyon, Dave (Tomi) Geise of New Hudson, Chris (Tony) Geise-Upshaw of Grass Lake and Ann Geise of Lake City.  She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Brian, Kevin, Hans, Chelsea, Brandon, Jake, Mandi, Daniel, Sara, Trisha and Trenton and fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jean was also preceded in death by a son Donald Geise, two sisters and two brothers.

The family is being served by the Young-Holdship Funeral Home in Lake City.
