Sandra Skonieczny Obituary

Sandra Shelia Skonieczny, 90, of  Prudenville passed away on Tuesday November 19, 2024 at her home with her loving husband by her side.

Sandra was born on July 2, 1934 in Greenock, Pennsylvania to Earl and Elizabeth (Leggin) Marshall. She moved to the Detroit area with her family at a young age. On September 28, 1954 in Detroit, Sandra was married to Walter J. Skonieczny.  Sandra worked as a bookkeeper for A & P Grocery Stores and was a homemaker and busy mother of 6 children.  The couple moved from Mt. Clemens to Prudenville in 1979. Sandra was a member of  Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking.  Sandra was known to give items she baked to the neighbors and especially for her cookies she gave the police officers. 

Surviving Mrs. Skonieczny are her loving husband of 70 years, Walter  Skonieczny of Prudenville; two daughters, Donna Skonieczny of Noblesville, Indiana, and Paula Jordan of Grand Rapids; three sons, Larry(Janet) Skonieczny of Plymouth, Gary(Lisa) Skonieczny of Huntington Beach, California, and Paul Skonieczny of LasVegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Elaine Palombo of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers, Devnor(Pat) Marshall of Central Lake and Brian(Rose) Marshall of Sterling Heights; several nieces and nephews.  Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Sharon Wager. 

Mass of Christian Burial for Sandra Shelia Skonieczny will be conducted at 12:00 pm Friday December 6, 2024 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Eke  officiating. Interment will be in Denton Township Cemetery, Prudenville. Visitation will be held on Friday December 6 from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 12:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Sandra are asked to be directed to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or American Juvenile Diabetes Association..
