Sharon Ann (Squier) Symons

Sharon Ann Symons, 82, of  Houghton Lake passed away on Monday July 28, 2025 at King Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side.

Sharon was born on December 4, 1942 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to DeWayne and Emma(Gettmann) Squier . Sharon moved to Houghton Lake at the age of 14 and graduated from Houghton Lake Community Schools in 1961.  On September 15, 1961 she was married to Rolland Richard Symons in Saginaw.  Rolland preceded her in death in 2015 after 54 years together. Sharon worked as a Cook at the Houghton Lake Senior Center for 29 years, and then went on to be the manager at the center for an additional 8 years.  Sharon enjoyed planning the many senior trips at the center along with restaurant work and catering. She was a member of the Faith Community Church in Houghton Lake, and the Houghton Lake Eagles where she had served as President.  Sharon was a 4-H leader for several years and enjoyed mushroom picking, gardening, canning, cooking, crocheting, knitting and doing crafts.  Her special love was spending time with her family

Surviving Mrs. Symons are her; daughter, Sally (Jeffery) Harding; son, Seth(Jovelyn) Symons; grandchildren, Jeffery(Van) Harding, Ryan(Amanda) Harding, Faith Ann P. Symons, Prince DeGuzman, and Thimothy DeGuzman; great grandchildren, Asher, Emma, Nathan, Noah, and Finley Harding.  Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rolland; and her brother Jack Squier.

Graveside Services for Sharon Ann Symons will be conducted at a later date at Roscommon Township Cemetery , Houghton Lake.  Memorial contributions in memory of Sharon are asked to be directed to Faith Community Church, 502 Federal Avenue, Houghton Lake, Michigan 48629.
