Sylvia D. (Housler) Wilbur

Sylvia D. Wilbur, 83, of Mesick, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. She was 83.

Sylvia was born on June 1, 1943, at the family home in Colfax Township, Mesick, Michigan to parents, Wayl and Blanche (Dussel) Housler. Sylvia entered into marriage with David H. Pelham in 1963, who preceded her in death in December 1992. She later found love again and married Dale Wilbur on November 9, 1996, in Mesick, Michigan. Sylvia was a gifted seamstress and needle worker whose talents touched the lives of many. She crocheted and knitted countless cherished items throughout the years, including baby hats for NICU infants and alterations for many items including wedding dresses. With remarkable skill and creativity, she could often piece together patterns and projects entirely from memory. She found great joy in sharing her handmade creations with family, friends, and those in need. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Sylvia was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her warmth, compassion, and thoughtfulness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, creating memories that will be greatly cherished.

Sylvia is survived by her loving husband, Dale Wilbur; brother, Les (Jeanne) Housler; sister, Karen Hall; nieces and nephews, Barb Frost, Larry (Chris) Housler, Christina (Sean) Duperron, Aaron (Joy) Housler, Justin (Tracy) Housler, and Travis Housler; step-children, Pam (Frank) Behling, Deb Mosher, and Cheryl Wilbur; numerous great nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayl and Blanche Housler; her first husband, David Pelham; and her brother, Estiven Housler. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 12 noon with visitation held one hour prior at Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Antioch Township Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Antioch Township Hall.
