Bloomfield Twp. - Thomas Moore Collins IV, of the Manton area and formerly of the Waterford area passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Medilodge of Traverse City. He was 76.
Tom was born on October 14, 1949, in Pontiac, Michigan, one of three eventual boys of Thomas and Dorothy (McMorris) Collins III. He grew up downstate and became a graduate of Pontiac Northern High School. Shortly after, Tom was drafted into the United States Army where he proudly served his country with two tours in Vietnam. Tom continued his military service even after being shot and wounded and Retired as CMD Sergeant Major in Michigan National Guard. Tom later moved to northern Michigan where he could enjoy a slower pace
Tom is survived by his two children, Beth (Daniel) Litkewycz and Thomas (Stacy Rennie) Collins V; six grandchildren; his two brothers, Michael (Colleen) Collins and Daniel Collins; two nieces; three nephews; in addition to several other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Interment will be held at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly on Thursday, April 16th at 1pm, with military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project.
