Thomas Allen Kitchen, age 66, of Lake City, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025, peacefully at home with his family following a two-year battle with cancer.
Tom was born on August 28, 1959, in Cadillac, MI, to Clyde and Verda Kitchen.
Thomas grew up in Lake City and graduated from Lake City High School in 1978. He worked at Arrow Homes for 42 years.
On October 6, 1979, he married Loretta Brazee, and together they shared 46 years of marriage. Thomas was a member of The Grove Church where he enjoyed helping with building projects.
Tom had a love for ice fishing and enjoyed sharing this passion with his grandsons. He also took great pride in farming, especially putting up hay.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Loretta Kitchen, and two daughters, Jessica (Dave) VanderBrook, Kate (Dave) Cobb, and four grandsons, James and Owen VanderBrook, Jacob and Holden Cobb. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Mike Kitchen and Ben Kitchen, as well as two close friends, Craig Duvall and Jim Bridson.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at The Grove Church at 11:00 am with Pastor Herb Helsel officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time at The Grove Church.
Memorial contributions in memory of Thomas may be directed to The Grove Church. Envelopes will be available at the service.
