Thomas "Tom" R. Solanick

Cadillac - Thomas Robert Solanick, of Cadillac passed away at home with family by his side on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He was 69.

Tom was born on August 21, 1956, in Highland Park, Michigan to Peter and Olga (Stashinsky) Solanick. Growing up downstate he was a graduate of Dearborn High School and shortly after graduation found a position with General Motors.  Tom made a career with GM as a certified pipefitter and spent 33 years with the company and worked at the Willow Run Hydramatic Plant.  After a long courting period, nearly spanning a decade, Tom entered into marriage with the former Lori L. Behling on July 23, 1995. 

Tom was not one to sit idle, he worked hard all his life and following retirement could often be found on a tractor or ATV.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spent time working around their home and properties.  Tom had a passion for motorcycles, and was extremely partial to Harley's.  He was meticulous in caring for not only his motorcycle's and property but was also an avid gun collector, who created many memories shooting with his wife, Lori. Tom was a member of the Cadillac Sportsman Club and  he will be deeply missed.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Lori Solanick of Cadillac; his brother, David (Kara) Solanick; his nieces, Kailey and Hannah as well as many other loving family members and friends. 

He was preceded in death by both parents, Peter and Olga Solanick.

Visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, followed by a procession to Selma Township Cemetery for a graveside committal service.
