Timothy Gerard DelVecchio, 74, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Crawford County Continuing Care in Grayling.
Tim was born on October 22, 1946 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Josephine Delvecchio. He grew up in the Dearborn area where he graduated from high school and attended college. On October 4, 1969 in Detroit, Tim was married to Sandra Jean Owens. Tim worked many years as an Engineering Technician for Ford Motor Company before his retirement. The couple owned a place in Houghton Lake for over 12 years and finally moved to Houghton Lake from White Lake in 2016, making the area their permanent home. Tim enjoyed the outdoors while snowmobiling, boating, and golfing. He also enjoyed doing puzzles and his special love was spending time with his family.
Surviving Mr. DelVecchio are his loving wife of 51 years, Sandra Jean DelVecchio of Houghton Lake; son, Keith (Amy) DelVecchio of Warren; daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Watkins of Houghton Lake; two grandchildren, Melina, and Mario; sister, Cynthia (Jim) Haverstick of Higgins Lake; brother, Ralph (Dianne) DelVecchio of Kewadin; three nephews, Mark (Carrie) DelVecchio of Shelby Township, Jason (Jennifer) Oliver of NC, and Josh (Becky) Oliver of Gaylord. Timothy was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Nicholas DelVecchio.
Mass of Christian Burial for Timothy Gerard DelVecchio will be conducted at 11:00am Monday October 4, 2021 from Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with Fr. Peter Eke officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday October 4, 2021 at the church from 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am. Memorial contributions in memory of Timothy are asked to be directed to the University of Michigan Samuel and Jean Frankel Cardiovascular Center (UMCVC.org).
