Travis Joe Yager, 60, of Houghton Lake passed away on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at his home.
Travis was born on February 19, 1965 in Midland, Michigan to Ronnie "Ron" and Catherine (Hegyi) Yager. He grew up in the Beaverton area where he graduated from Beaverton High School. He went on to Mid Michigan College to receive his Associates Degree in Management and Marketing and later received his Associate Degree as a Registered Nurse from Kirtland Community College. Travis moved to Houghton Lake from Beaverton in 1988 where he co-owned Houghton Lake Concrete with his parents. The last 10 years Travis has been working as an RN for Health Source in Saginaw. On February 14, 1997, Travis was married in Roscommon to Michelle Kaye Smigill Stolicker. He enjoyed traveling and was an avid outdoorsman. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and especially spending time outdoors with his dog, Charlie.
Surviving Mr. Yager are his loving wife of 28 years, Michelle Yager of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Blair (John Paul) Clark of Harrison Township, and Valerie Stolicker of Charlottesville, VA; son, Christopher (Jody) Stolicker of Northville; two grandsons, John Paul "Jack" Clark, and Benjamin Clark; parents, Ron and Catherine Yager of Houghton Lake; sister, Ronda (Allen) Rentfrow of Grand Rapids; brother, Tyler (Tammy) Yager of Riverdale; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Gathering for Travis will be held from 11:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday March 15, 2025 at The Northern Center, 7784 Stone School Road, Houghton Lake, Michigan. Please come as you are and enjoy sharing fellowship and memories. Lunch will be provided and a cash bar is available..
