Tyler Sommer Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, and brother, Tyler Joseph Sommer, who left us on May 27th, 2026, at the age of 34.

Born on September 26th, 1991, in Cadillac, Michigan, Tyler was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He was known for his warm laugh, striking blue eyes, boundless generosity, and profound compassion for all that he set out to accomplish.

Tyler had an incredible ability to adapt and find joy in simple life endeavors. He attended OCM BOCES where he acquired his certification in construction trades; he excelled in both carpentry and electrical work. Tyler took great pleasure in any remodeling task, whether it was for himself or others in need. He also enjoyed going to the beach, curating a BBQ, harvesting morel mushrooms, collecting cards and antiques, lottery tickets, playing horseshoes, arts and crafts, and attending local music events. Though Tyler may have struggled with life’s adverse circumstances, he was still loved dearly by friends and family.

He is survived by his mother, Margo Sommer and spouse Shawn Eneix, brothers, Brian Sommer, Kurtis Joynt, and grandmother Judy Joynt; and by his father, Joseph Sommer, and spouse Holly Savage, and sister, Victoria Savage who will all cherish his memory. He is preceded in death by grandparents, James and Joanne Sommer, grandfather, Herbert Joynt, and Uncle, Thomas Sommer.

Though Tyler’s time with us was cut short, the impact he made will last forever. His spirit will remain and carry on in our hearts. May God bless his soul and he rest in peace.  Private family services will take place at a later date. Should friends desire, contributions can be sent to family members. The family is being served by Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home.
