Wade Brocht Obituary

Wade Allen Brocht, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 23rd, 2023 at home at 50. 

Wade was born on April 2, 1973 in Bradenton, Florida to Gary Wade and Denise Jo (Timlick) Brocht. He was a graduate of Marion High School, where he achieved the 1990 Class D State Championship for football.

Wade was a dedicated and hardworking individual. He leaves behind a legacy of 27 years of service with the Canadian National Railroad, where he began his career in the Flatrock, MI yard. With determination and commitment, he progressed from a yard worker to a conductor and ultimately an engineer in Battle Creek, MI.

In addition to his professional achievements, Wade had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding solace and joy in nature. He said often, “there are only two things in this world that need fear me, walleyes and whitetail does.” His love for these pursuits brought him many cherished moments and adventures.

Wade's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for the great outdoors, and the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Wade is survived by his loving family, father, Gary Brocht; brother, Andy Brocht; nieces, Katelyn, Allison and Lauren; great-nephews, Brenton, Kameron and Logan; a great-niece, Amaya; and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Denise Jo Brocht; and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Memorial services will be held on Friday November 3rd, 2023 at the Eagles Fraternal Order in Marion, MI at 1pm. A short service followed by lunch provided by his family. Please bring any photos you may have of Wade to be share for all to see.
