Wallace G. Savage, Jr. of Cadillac passed away at his home on Thursday, March 20, 2025. He was 78. Wallace (Wally) was a former resident of Marion, Michigan, and had previously spent many years living in Florida, and the Detroit area.
Wallace was born on March 05, 1947 in Northville, Michigan to Wallace G. and Elizabeth Opal (Phillips) Savage, Sr. After graduating from Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan and completing two years at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, he answered the call of duty, serving in the United States Navy during the Viet Nam Era. On April 05, 1980, he entered into marriage with the former Barbara J. Bascik in Plymouth, Michigan.
Wally was dedicated to serving his fellow veterans and his community. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars (VFW), and was an active member in his local community organizations. The major portion of his professional career was spent with The Salvation Army in both Florida and Michigan, before retiring in 2015.
Wallace is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Barbara Savage of Cadillac; his daughter Michelle (Jerry) Pokorney; grandson Joe (Becca); and great granddaughter (Evelyn); his sister Cindy (Dennis) Swiler; nephews and nieces David (Karen), Stacie (Doug), and Nate (Bridget); and his wife Barbara's siblings, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace G. and Elizabeth O. Savage, Sr.
Cremation was private, and no service is planned.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
