Wiletta Mae Dobberteen

Cadillac- Wiletta Mae Dobberteen, longtime resident of Cadillac passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Munson Healthcare's Cadillac Hospital, with family by her side. She was 79.

Wiletta was born on December 23, 1943, in Cadillac, Michigan to Everett and Emily (Podbilski) Potrude. She grew up in Battle Creek and was a member of the First Methodist Church. She returned to the Cadillac area in 1970 and attended Central Michigan University, graduating with a degree in Special Education. Wiletta taught with the Wexford Missaukee ISD before moving to the Baldwin school system, retiring after 30 plus years in mostly special education.Wiletta was a faithful member of the Cadillac United Methodist Church for years.  

Wiletta is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Greg) Green of McBain; grandchildren, Rebekka (Sam) Bommarito and Greg Alan Green of Jackson; brothers, Howard (Georgia) Potrude of Kalamazoo, and Stanley Protrude (Richard Allegra) of Palm Springs, California; and many other loving family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her best friend of many years, Jill Lovell.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 22, 2023, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Hitesman-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior.  Officiating will be Associate Pastor Judy Coffey. Interment will take place at the Clam Lake Township Cemetery.
