William Grady Gagnon

William Grady Gagnon, of Marion and formerly of the Berkley area, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at his home with family by his side. He was 86.

Bill was born on April 10, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to John C. and Alice Elizabeth (Bratton) Gagnon. He received a Catholic education starting at The Shrine of the Little Flower and graduate from St. Gregory Catholic High School, Detroit, MI, Class of 1958. Towards the beginning of his career, Bill and his brother Jack owned and operated two gas stations in the Farmington Hills area. The boys would pump gas and do maintenance, and repairs on vehicles. This sparked Bill's entrepreneurial spirit, and after a few years, he left the gas station and decided to start his own business, Martin Tool Grinding. Supporting the auto industry as a small business owner was a point of pride for Bill. After dedicating himself to his business for several decades, he eventually retired and moved to his family farm in Marion, MI. In his younger years of raising a family, he was actively involved in his kids' activities, from coaching his son's football and baseball teams to being the lighting expert for his daughter’s dance recitals. He mentored countless young athletes as a revered baseball coach. He had a passion for classic cars and liked to work on the ones he collected. But he was happiest being outdoors, hunting, cutting his lawn, and walking in the woods. Putting a smile on your face or cracking a joke to make you laugh was how Bill lived his life - a quintessential “people person”. Keeping up with the young guys earned him the nickname "Wild Bill" for his antics. Above all, he loved surrounding himself with his family and especially cherished the time spent with his grandkids and great-grandson. Wild Bill was one of a kind. 

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Therolyn Seales; children, David Gagnon, Kathy (Brent) Bartson, Danny (Carmalyn LeBoeuf) Gagnon, and Tishalyn McWhorter; grandchildren, Sydney Bartson-Queen, Christina Bartson, Spencer LeBoeuf, and Theron Miracle; great-grandson, Milo LeBoeuf; special furry children, Rusty and Bullet; brother, Jack Gagnon; sister, TC Hite; "favorite" nephew, Mike Gagnon; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many other loving friends and hunting buddies. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Elizabeth Gagnon; brother, Joe Gagnon; sister, Alice Gagnon; and a nephew, Darin Hite. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fosnaught-Holdship Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be conducted on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. with visitation held one hour prior at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Service will be followed by a luncheon at the Olde Mill Venue.
