Joyce Marie Miles,78, of Houghton Lake went to be with her Savior on Friday February 24, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side.

Joyce was born on March 30, 1938 in Houghton Lake, Michigan to Claude and Ellen (Emery) Savercool. She grew up and spent most of her life in the Houghton Lake area. Joyce was married to Albert Benson, who passed away in 1968. On September 12, 1970 in Houghton Lake, she was married to Daryl Ray Miles. Joyce was a member of New Hope Chapel and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved spending time with her family especially the grandchildren.

Surviving Mrs. Miles are her loving husband of 47 years, Daryl Miles of Houghton Lake; two daughters, Karen (Bob) Bryant of Houghton Lake and Susan (Don) Stevens of Port Orange, FL; three sons, Albert (Jennifer Joseph) Benson of Houghton Lake, Glen (Linda) Benson of Eaton Rapids and Steve (Jeanette) Miles of Blytheville, AR; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Johnston of Houghton Lake; Jenny (Larry) Lawrence of Houghton Lake; and Vicki (Reg) Mosher of Delon Springs, FL; brother, Jake Savercool of North Port, FL; brother-in-law, Don (Sally) Miles of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Cheryl (Larry) Gerschbacher of Traverse City; many nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Danny Benson, and Allen Benson; first husband, Albert Benson; grandson, Jeremy Estes, sister, Claudia Coon; and brother, Leroy Savercool. 

Memorial Services for Joyce Marie Miles will be conducted at 11:00am Thursday March 30, 2017 from Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel with Rev. Fred Wynkoop officiating. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. Memorial contributions in memory of Joyce are asked to be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospitals and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
