TYLER, Texas - Jack Marshall Jenema, lifelong resident of Marion, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016, at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Texas. He was 67.

Jack was born May 9, 1949, in Marion, to Peter Jay and Maxine Marie (Marsh) Jenema. On July 10, 1987, Jack entered into marriage with the former Kathleen Kae Coon at her family's home.

Jack spent many years working along side his family at their local hardware before venturing more into appliance repair. Jack was helpful and handy by nature and would spend a great amount of time putting his talent to use helping those in need. He was an avid fisherman and hunter whom could often be found enjoying nature with friends, as they reeled in their next big catch or were in search of the next buck. He was a faithful member of St. Agnes and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Churches, where he helped to provide for those in need, volunteering to read during Mass or arranging for holiday meals. Jack will be deeply missed and cherished by many.

He is survived by his wife of over 29 years, Kathleen K. Jenema of Marion; his two sons, Jeff (Christina Stone) Jenema, and Chad Jenema all of Marion; his daughter, Jennifer (Akinyemi Laleye) Jenema of Florida; five grandchildren, Markus Jenema, William Jenema, Thomas Jenema, Aaron Jenema, and Akinyemi Isaiah Laleye Jr.; one great-granddaughter, Lorrelle; a sister-in-law, Linda Jenema; sister, Elizabeth (Joseph) Nickerson; brothers, Kent (Victoria) Jenema, and James (Katrina) Cariano; his mother-in-law, Ann Coon; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Anndrea (Howard) McCrimmon, Kevin Coon, Stephen Coon, Leisa (Michael) Ritzer, Marcella (Kevin) Bennett, Michelle (Michael) Thompson, and John (Cynthia) Coon; three aunts, Viola Creger, Bonnie Davis and Beverly Kreger; numerous nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bruce Jenema; his father-in-law, George E. Coon; and a brother-in-law, George J. Coon.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, November 25, 2016, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Marion, with a prayer service and time of sharing to begin at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at noon on Saturday, November 26, 2016, also at St. Agnes Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.
