Ruth Marie Osborn of Manton went to be with her Lord, Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Cadillac.
She was 90 years old.
Ruth was born September 11, 1923 in the Detroit area to Richard and Florrie (Piper) Couch.
She married LeRoy E. Osborn June 10, 1944 in Detroit. They were married for 60 years.
LeRoy preceded her in death in 2005.
After graduating from Detroit MacKenzie High School in 1942, she worked for J.L. Hudson
for a time.
When Lee retired in 1980 they moved to the Lake City area. She enjoyed homemaking and
gardening. Ruth was a very kind and loving friend to many. She was a member of the Order
of Eastern Stars #179 of Lake City and a member of the Rollins Christian Fellowship Church
in Manton. For several years she served the church by mailing bulletins and get well cards
to church shut ins.
She is survived by two nieces: Dawn Couch of Van Nuys, California and Suzanne Skeen of
Lancaster, California and two cousins Violet Tiedman of Reidsville, N. Carolina and Hazel Papps
of Jackson, Michigan.
Ruth was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Bill.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at the Young Funeral Home
with Pastor Bart Glupker officiating. The members of the Eastern Stars will also be participating
in the service. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a,m until the time of service.
Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Rollins Christian Fellowship Church in Manton.
